Sierra Tequila is the market leader in many European countries – and most popular in Germany with an almost “unreal” 90% share of the market. Sierra Tequila is distributed in more than 80 countries worldwide.

The stuff that Sierra Tequila is made of grows at an altitude of 2,000 metres in the Sierra Madre Occidental: the blue “Agave Tequiliana Weber”. The name harks back to a German immigrant who, in the Mexican province of Jalisco, distilled a spirit from the fermented juice of a special agave. This blue agave is only found in Jalisco, and the drink became known as “tequila”.

It takes 8-10 years for the blue agave to be harvested. Only the heart of the fruit of the blue agave is used to make tequila. The hard leaves are cut off by hand using a sharp chopper leaving a fruit shaped like a pineapple. Agave juice is then fermented in vats. The fermented juice is distilled twice in copper stills using the traditional “potstill” process. Sierra Tequila Gold and Sierra Tequila Antigua are kept under ideal conditions, maturing to perfect ion in old oak barrels. It is here that they take on their characteristic pale or deep golden color.

Sierra Tequila Silver is a young, very pure, racy Tequila. Enjoyed as a “shot” with lemon and salt or in longdrinks and cocktails, such as Margarita and Tequila Sunrise. It is the world’s favorite tequila variety.

Sierra Tequila Gold is noted for its mild flavour and pale golden colour which comes from maturing in oak barrels. It’s a great drink as a “shot” with cinnamon and orange or in longdrinks and cocktails.

Sierra Antigua is a tequila “Anejo”, an old tequila left to mature in oak barrels for a long time, with a deep golden color and well-rounded flavor. It is best appreciated hand-warm, like a fine cognac.

Sierra Tequila combines the traditional distiller’s art with modern technology. Every bottle symbolizes the desire for perfection – for both palate and eyes.
